“GAF-Klein”: successful preliminary tests

THE DEMANDING BLACK FOREST

The new VMT 970 GR was tested on the “Höllentalbahn” in the famous Black Forest, between Freiburg and Villingen. A picturesque railway line – one of the most demanding stretches of track in the German rail network – offering the steepest gradient in Germany: up to 5.7%. Also renowned for its tunnels and viaducts, the new GAF-Klein had nothing to fear from these conditions, or even from the snowy environment, being capable of climbing gradients of up to 6.7% and designed to withstand the harshest weather conditions.

A great success for all the teams, and one that confirms the reliability and progress of this bidirectional track vehicle technology, designed for track maintenance and the quick, safe transport of equipment and teams.

Congratulations to all the Geismar Italia Spa and Geismar GmbH teams for reaching this important milestone!
